Geographer with over 30 years of experience in the geospatial field, a demonstrated career in Spanish Governmental Organization as Chief of Cartography and GIS, and previously working in private companies. Full professional background in all levels of GIS. Strong computer vision skills using Deep Learning (DL) applied to big data image processing, geospatial analysis and LiDAR. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for expanding the boundaries of what is possible, Gabriel’s action is pushing the frontiers of Cartography and GIS forward, by exploring the intersection between AI (computer vision) and geospatial information, with a focus on delivering creative and innovative approaches for the mapping industry. Gabriel has shown a strong passion for helping others and building community. Between 2002 and 2010 -before the rise of social media- he developed a website that became a go-to resource for thousands of Spanish-speaking GIS professionals, and it is still remembered by many to this day.
