My professional trajectory, with over 28 years of experience, is closely linked to municipal cartographic management. For 10 years (1996-2006), I was in charge of the cartography department at the City Council of Sant Cugat del Vallès, where I led the implementation of the municipal geodesic infrastructure, as well as the creation of a municipal cartographic base at 1:500 and 1:1,000 scales. I also implemented the methodology that allowed for cartographic updating through the use of internal information flows (building permits, as-builts, etc.). Since 2006, I stand out for leading the project “Metropolitan Topographic Map at 1:1,000 scale, 3D” at the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB) and for my strategic vision, which has allowed me to connect the GIS world with the BIM world through the development of a new product: BIM Models of the territory in IFC format. Additionally, I promote active policies for the dissemination of geographic information through the Cartography Geoportal, where various geographic information datasets can be accessed and downloaded, such as topographic maps, high-resolution orthophotos, historical flights, 3D models of the territory, land use maps, etc. With a clearly innovative component, the Cartography team advocates for the use of new technologies applied to the creation of high-quality cartographic products (applications with Artificial Intelligence, Mobile Mapping, Virtual Reality, 3D printing, UAVs, etc.). I actively participate, representing the AMB, in various commissions aimed at improving the quality of geographic data and its interoperability. In this regard, I take part in the Cartographic Coordination Commission of Catalonia (C4), I preside over the National Technical Subcommittee for the exchange of information between GIS and BIM, and I am a member of CTN-332 (National Technical Committee on the Digitization of Information for Construction and Civil Engineering) and CTN-148 (National Technical Committee on Digital Geographic Information). I lead the «Urban Topographic Base Specifications Group -BTU- and adaptation to the BIM format,» created by the Specialized Commission on Geographic Standards, which is part of the National Geographical Council.
