Fernando Martín-Consuegra

Eficiencia energética en la edificación / ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN BUILDINGS Evaluación del impacto ambiental de los processos de la construcción / ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF CONSTRUCTION PROCESSES PhD in Architecture at the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid; Master in Urban planning speciality of research in urban studies. He’s also a specialist in Basic Habitability for development projects. During the last 14 years he has acquired relevant experience in sustainability of edification, working at Instituto Eduardo Torroja of construction sciences, specialising in energy efficiency in buildings and environmental assessment of construction processes. He has participated in multiple research projects about energy efficiency and urban rehabilitation, specialising in building refurbishment (projects HABITARES, LIFE-MBIG, RECONSOST, REFAVIV, INVISO…). He has participated in the development of official tools and provides training for Spanish energy efficiency certificates for buildings. He also works as a freelance architect, having been awarded the first prize for the headquarters building of the association YEREDEME Mopti (Mali) in 2006 ECOHABITAT contest for sustainable buildings. In collaboration with Argola Arquitectos he was also awarded with the Light Rail Awards 2012 for the design of the architectural and urban implementation of Line 1 of Zaragoza tram. He speaks fluent English, French and Spanish.
